Rhythm of The Home

December 1, 2009

It is 6 am MST, and I am watching the sun come up in a very quiet house. I am normally always awake at this time, but since I have not yet laid my head to a pillow, this feels a bit more unique. Rhythm of The Home entered the digital universe today, and it feels amazing to have this first edition completed. As with any new creation, there are still a few kinks to work through, but we have been really lucky with how well this all came together.

Although it took a lot to get this publication off the ground, it was really worth the challenges. Having time and space to create projects for our home, our family and our friends, and then to have the ability to share it with all of you has been a great experience. Seeing the special words, pictures and creations that so many of you shared was a special treat for us as well.

The holidays are now here and I am looking forward to sinking lazily back into my daily life with my little ones, a good book, and always this creative space here. To slip back into the rhythm of my home.

Bernadette and I want to thank Stacy for all of her hard work on designing the site for Rhythm of the Home, and for getting us through all of the technical hurdles. We could not have done it without her. And to all those that contributed their words, art and emotions, thank you. What a joy it is to see our work come together.

I hope that you enjoy this first edition of Rhythm of The Home

You did an amazing job! Now you can breathe! Thanks for giving me something more to look forward to… I think I may even try to contribute something here soon! You are completely awesome… I do have a question… how do you heat up your hand warmers, and keep them warm? I make the kids freezer rice bags, but I can't imagine them staying warm for a huge amount of time. AND, how do you bring them on an outing warm? Fire? Congratulations!

The handwarmers so not stay very warm for very long, especially if they are not enclosed in something like mittens. We use them alot when out camping, or if we are sledding around the house, etc. You can use either a microwave, or a dry pan on a campfire.

I just wanted to give you a rather belated, but heartfelt none the less, congratulations on the magazine. I think it is such a wonderful and generous contribution to our online mama/crafting/waldorf /etc. community. I was really excited to see the solstice table runner project and hopefully by next year I will have enough vintage doilies collected that I can make one!
