With Hope

November 4, 2009

A soft baby sweater that was started a few weeks back, and now is finished and set in a hope chest with the wish that one day it will be worn by a new little one.

Knitting through the sadness was wonderful. I knit in my hopes and my wishes, and my blessings and my prayers. There will always be a lot of rememberance and emotion in this sweater, and a whole lot of love.

Thank you all again for your words of comfort through this time.

Pattern: Boat-Neck Sweater: Debbie Bliss
Yarn: Shivaya Naturals Aran Cashmere

I wanted to let you all know that my blog is actually going to be moving tomorrow night after 9, but it will not be up and running correctly until sometime towards the end of the weekend. I will have a normal post tomorrow, and then I will resume posting on Monday. Since I am trying to move the entire blog, while keeping everything in tact, this is going to take a few steps that I was not aware of.

Thank you so much for hanging in there with me, and once I get this done, I will do a tutorial about how we did it, since many of you have expressed that you are interested in doing the same.

It will be worn and enjoyed, along with every other sweet little gift in that chest.

A hope chest it is, and hope it shall give.

Love Julia

I knit that same sweater pattern when I was pregnant with my first child. I also recently lost my third at 12 weeks. So I definitely identify with this post!

I'm so grateful I've come across your blog, and I can't wait to get your magazine.

I'll pray for you!

Heather, it is a beautiful sweater. And it will have a beautiful little babe to wear it someday soon. I've found knitting to be therapeutic, too. There is something in the repetition that allows your mind to work through what it needs to work through. I'm sending you a lot of love and warmth. +Chelsea

Crafting keeps the hands busy, the head occupied and the heart fullfilled. The things we make in these times begin as 'something to do', and evolve through therapeutic to healing. You will get through it all eventually. Stronger, closer to the ones you love & cherish and with a closet full of crafted goodiness…
Hang in there, friend.

oh heather – it is a beautiful little sweater, as is the little hope box filled with love. I hope the new week is bringing you moments of love and happiness and a strong sense that all will be well. I'm a great believer in goodness, and I am sure the love and effort you put into parenting will bring another little being into this world. My thoughts are with you – take care. :-)

The sweater is perfect! And you have my prayers that it will grace the shoulders of a new little one at just the right time for all of you. I am so glad to hear that you found the perfect way to process through your feelings, and I am certain that years from now that story will be told again as the sweater is passed to another generation.

Good luck with the blog move; mine moved from Moveable Type to Wordpress recently, and while I am much happier with Wordpress, Hubby wasn't able to plan the move because of his crazy schedule. The unexpected move has left a lot of my readers in the lurch; I think it is wonderful that you are able to let us know ahead of time. I also think you'll love Wordpress; it's GREAT!
