Vintage Perfection

November 9, 2009

I think that all I can say to Friday’s post is WOW! The comment system works so well, and I am really pleased with how the comments can be left, and answered. It is very easy to moderate, and I really love that the replies can stay hidden, which leaves the comment section looking well organized. Since I am still planning to move to WordPress in the coming weeks, I was thrilled to find out that you can actually move Intense Debate to the WordPress platform if you choose. Kind of a cool feature.

So, now on to the winner from the Vintage/yarn giveaway!!! Congratulations to Gypsy Forest, who was chosen using the random # generator.

Add knitting to the above photo and it would be a perfect morning for me :)

I realized over the weekend that I had not had a chance to show you the amazing vintage goodies that my swap partners sent to me for the first Vintage Swap (our second swap opens the first week in January if you are interested in joining us). This swap was so much fun to put together, and to see play out. People from all over the globe participated, and the goodness that each person gathered together was really incredible to see.

In a funny twist that could only ever happen to me, I forgot to include myself in the original 100 count of participants, so we ended up with 101 instead, and I was paired up with two wonderful swap partners.

Here are a few of the amazing items that they included

From Valerie in France

Vintage Lace Trim and Buttons

Gorgeous Vintage Post Cards

French Lifestyle Magazines from 1937!

Vintage Bowl that my children have already claimed for their own

Vintage lace and tea towels

Gretchen and Valarie, thank you very much for the thought and care that you put into your swap packages. It was wonderful to get to you know you both, and I look forward to sharing all that I create with your amazing items.

For so many of us, the Vintage Swap was not only a place to come together to share the love of all things vintage, but it also provided a chance for many of to build amazing friendships. Thank you to all of you who participated, and I look forward to another great swap in 2010!

It is hard for me to believe that it is November already, and that I am already behind with my holiday crafting. I sat down to put my lists together this weekend, and all that I can say is that sleep will be hard to come by. I love this time of year, as the holidays really ramp up, and deciding on exactly what I want to make for all of my loved ones takes shape. Now the fun begins of gathering the paints, the yarn, the needles, the thread and the clay together to make it all happen.

I hope that weekend was a wonderful one for all of you, and I wish you a great start to the week ahead.

You made out quite well with the swap (although I must say I did too!) – that lace makes me drool a bit.
Good luck with the Wordpress move. What platform did you begin with?

What beautiful vintage items from both partners. After hostessing a great swap you genuinely deserved two swap partners. Thanks for doing this, I had a great time. Holiday preparations are in full swing. I wish I could get in the mood in July but it just never happens. Here's to you and yours and some great crafting!

OOOOOOOOOOO the ribbons, the lace…. I am speechless…
where do you guys find these treasures?

Valerie November 9, 2009 at 11:00 pm

Good to hear that you received it.
However, please don't make me worry that the vintage fabrics, tea tablecloth, and collector issue of Martine didn't make it to your mailbox either ?! Never know what to expect after an international flight… :(

What beautiful treasures you recieved – love the bowl. I would love to sign up for the next vintage swap, but don't have a blog of my own. Is it still possible? Also love reading your blog – it is so inspiring to see all that you do each day.
