A Little Something For The Weekend

August 1, 2009

Weekends are made for enjoying, for feeling pretty, and for creating special moments. This weekend, I decided that it would be fun to dress up the ponytail that always adorns my hair on Saturdays and Sundays.

I was looking through Oh Frannson’s blog the other day, and I came across these adorable ponytail scarves that she made for an article on Sew Mama Sew.

I love projects that are quick, but that completely change the everyday and ordinary in my life. No joke, from start to finish, these took right around seven minutes (oh yeah, I clocked it :)).

They can be made for every season, for a child or an adult, to match an outfit, or to spice up a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. They make me feel pretty, and they add a touch of fun to my day.

Oh, and I also wanted to let you know about two cool things going on this weekend. First, Hip Mountain Mama is holding her one year anniversary sale from August 1st through the 8th (congratulations Suzy!!). Almost all items are 25% off, and Suzy and Andy (the owners) are an amazing couple who strive to promote healthy and safe play for babies and young children, both through the products that they sell, and the education that they promote.

Kuz Z Jewelry is doing her first blog giveaway, and her jewelry is just gorgeous. So head on over and check her out.

Also, I wanted to let you all know that beginning next Saturday, I am going to be bringing back the Artist at Work Series and interviewing and highlighting artists in many different areas of the creative world. We will begin next week with a woman who has changed the world of natural beauty through her passion and her environmental commitment, Josie Maran. I hope that you will join me every weekend to meet some cool artists, and have some fun discussions.

OK, I wonder if those hair ties would work in my knot that adorns my head on a daily basis as well?!?!? I will be trying this one out, thanks for the link Heather.

Josie is just stunning. I can't wait to see the interview.

Happy weekend.

Very pretty ponytail scarves, I am sure that they will make the weekend a little brighter. I have actually heard of Josie, and I look forward to reading about the cosmetics, and the work that she is doing next weekend.

I think I might have to try those out. It seems these days I wear my hair up a lot. Thanks for the tips on the other blogs, I will be checking them out!

Those ponytail scarves are just the best. I know what you mean about how the little things really can make a difference. The fabrics you chose are beautiful. I look forward to your interview with Josie.
