The sheets were actually favorites of mine, but apparently my hubby was not into large flowers adorning our bed, so I must have tucked them away for a later time.
So, what to do with king size sheets? Pajamas of course!!!!!

I love pajamas, and I am pretty sure that I have many a blog post to prove that. First, I just love to hang out around the house in fun lounge pants, and also, who could possibly have too many pairs of pajamas????

Once I was done with the PJ's, I was staring at the mound of pillow cases on my sewing table, and I knew that they would make some cool little tote bags for my night time knitting, or a fun overnight when I stay at my parent's house.
The cool thing about using a pillow case to make a tote is that if you use the open side of the case, you already have a great hem for the bags, and all that you need to do is attach the handles to the top. Seriously, this was about a 20 minute project, and it yielded a fun little bag that I am sure will have many uses.

Repurposing is a ton of fun. Finding new ways to use old items seems like the perfect way to live simply and creatively. I have a ton more sheets, and I see a lot more pajamas in my future, as well as my kiddos.

Wow, thank you all so much for the cool comments. It has been a lot of fun for me to read how everyone repurposes, and of course, that we all have sheets that we can use for some fun ideas. I can not wait to see what everyone creates :). Happy weekend
I have a stash of "OLD LADY" sheets that I am in love with that have been banished to the attic by my husband...Apparently "romantic" is in the eye of the beholder.
Laura and I use a lot of thrifted floral sheets for our sewing of little girl dresses. They are so girlie and pretty.
Curious...Are you reading this

I love this idea - they are both super cute!
I love the print on the sheets! What a great way to repurpose them!
What a wonderful idea. It makes me wish I had some nice old sheets laying around. But then...there's always the Thrift Shop. I will check them out when I donate my other stuff that you haven't given me any ideas for. :o)
I lOVE those lounge pants Heather!! I have to confess that in the summer, I stay in my pajamas for a good portion of the morning :) Happy lounging!
I love your ideas and would really love to promote you on my site. Do you have a button code that I can use?
I am so going through the linen closet tomorrow. I know I should have cleaned it out long ago. Maybe I can use the flannel sheets for diapers. Hmmm...Maybe a new outlet!
heather, those pants look so cute on you - love the burgundy flowers. and that tote looks like something out of a shabby chic catalog - so good. i am off to seach for old sheets!
I was helping a friend clean out his Dad's house after he moved to an assisted living center and some of the items said friend was going to toss were these beautiful flowery and lacy sheets. I snagged every one of them and brought them home to repurpose. They feel so wonderful.
love the pants!

So cute, and what a good idea on the tote bag!
I just put in a request for Weekend Sewing at my library. I can't wait to check it out!
I love your sheet projects! Very cute. I want to try making pajama pants. Do you have a pattern you like to use?
Kayla, you are going to LOVE it. I am also looking forward to getting my hands on Amanda Soule's new book, which I hear has a TON of repurposed patterns to enjoy.
Kyndale, there is nothing better, is there? :)
Wow, thank you! I would love that.
I use Heather Ross' Weekend sewing book (which I am pretty sure you have Stacy). I love her book, and the pants are SOOOO simple. You could also just trace your favorite PJ pants and use that.
I love it! I love it!
I also use sheets for tops/dresses for my daughter and for aprons.
sheets make THE BEST pajama pants. I recently made a pair for my son and I adore how the top pf the sheet gives you a ready made hem.

^I posted a picture of the pants in that entry!
That is a really neat way to use your old sheets! Although, I can understand why those may not be manly enough for the husband :)
