It is finally warm and beautiful here (although we do have another tornado warning in effect until 10 pm), and the kids asked if they could do a special outdoor craft after our nature walk this morning.

They collected little bits of leaves, flowers and pine needles that had fallen to the ground, and then brought them home and preserved them in a flat circle of air drying modeling clay.

I had read about something similar on The Artful Parent, and it looked like a wonderful way to preserve those treasures from nature, and to give the kids the opportunity to create a project that they can display for years to come.

That looks like great fun! Good way to display natural art materials
Those are so pretty
Looks like a lot of fun. Will the flowers become discolored once they dry?
Your family does some amazing crafts
