Knitting Beach Side

February 26, 2008

I have finally arrived back home from our vacation in Florida, and it was just amazing! I am glad that I took the time to go down there (I have passed it up the past three years!). I am in the midst of trying to readjust my children, clean the house that my husband and two dogs inhabited (alone) for two weeks, and do piles of laundry. I have a lot of updates on my knitting that I will get to in the coming days, but for now, here is a picture of pure bliss 🙂

Knitting in Florida

February 15, 2008

Wow, it seems like I have been gone from this blog for a bit, but I just wanted to post a quick update to everyone.
The kids and I are really enjoying being at my parent’s in Florida. My mom and dad live down the street from me in Colorado, and then for 6 weeks a year they rent a home in Florida. This is the first year that we have taken them up on coming and spending some time with them. My oldest son has just not been feeling well in the past month or more, and this trip has been so good for him to just be in a warm climate where his body can heal a little.
We spend most of our day swimming or building sand castles, but as soon as the sun goes down, the knitting needles come out! So far I have made two sets of gorgeous fingerless mitts from the Knitter’s Book of Yarn, as well as one hat for my husband, a tea cup cozy for my mama for Valentine’s Day and I now have a pair of heavy wool socks on the needles for my husband. My dad has taken pictures, and I will post them sometime over the weekend (along with some great beach pictures of the family). The only hard part is being away from Joel for two weeks. You alwasy think that absence makes the heart grow fonder, but it would have been great if he could have been with us on this trip, He promised me that he would make it next year, and I am going to hold him to it. Have a great weekend everyone, and happy knitting
